Earth Day Events Around Manchester, NH

A Guide to Local Earth Day Events Around New Hampshire

Earth Day Activities As global citizens, we realize that we stand at the crossroads for change. The green path leads to a reconnection with our planet that will improve the future for our children, while a darker path starts down the road to greed, apathy, and eventual desolation. Our children deserve clean food without the political influences that degrade nutrition. They deserve clean drinking water without the worry of industrial pollutants. They deserve fresh air without the contamination of factory particulates.

Earth Day is a re-commitment of our vows to protect the promised legacy. We come together to stand witness and confirm our dedication as neighbors and stewards for a green earth through community events. To this end, this guide lists several events that are taking place around Manchester and New Hampshire to provide opportunities for those looking to be a part of something larger than themselves.

Massabesic Audubon Society

The NH Audubon Society at Massabesic is hosting a family designed volunteer event on Saturday for trail cleanups and community garden work. Participants will enjoy a live performance of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax, as well as live music, crafts, animal demonstrations, and scavenger hunts all in the spirit of reconnecting to the Earth. This volunteer event is free to attend.

Monadnock Earth Day Festival

Taking place on April 26, the Monadnock Earth Day festival is hosted by Antioch College in Keene, and will be a community gathering to celebrate with neighbors the contributions and commitment of the area to a healthy planet. Seminars and events are planned throughout the month, so plan on visiting to find the right event for your family involvement.

Discover WILD New Hampshire Day

This April 19 will mark the 25th anniversary of NH Fish and Game's Earth Day Celebration, Discover WILD New Hampshire. Admission is free at the Concord Headquarters on Hazen Drive, and families will experience the exciting outdoor festival ushering in Spring. Rivier University 5k Earth Day Run Event

The Biology club at Rivier University is hosting an Earth Day 5k to raise an awareness of road side trash an our impact as consumers on the planet. The event accepts preregistration as well as race day sign ups, and hopes to bring the community spirit by encouraging ecological study through lecture, field trips, and related scholarly pursuits under the premise that knowledge is our greatest tool for enacting change.
