Child Actor Mickey Rooney Dead at 93

Silver screen legend Mickey Rooney has died after a long illness at the age of 93.

One of the quintessential child stars of the 30s and 40s, Rooney was most known for his prodigious work in classic films such as 'National Velvet' opposite Liz Taylor, and 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' with Audrey Hepburn.

Firmly established as one of the greatest child actors of all time, Rooney remained in the business almost his entire life, with his last project being Jason Segal's 2011 'Muppets' reboot, and a significant role in the 2006 film, 'Night at the Museum.'

His charm and warmth will be missed. Read more by visiting his Variety obituary here.
